1. What is the story behind your Twitch channel name?
In real life my nickname has been Metal man, Metal, or some variation thereof so I just came up with Mr.Metalman. I mainly was given this nickname do to my long hair and energetic and intense personality.
I recently cut my long hair to donate it, so lately I have had to work on the personality intensity and energy more haha.
2. What is your video game history/background and all time favourite game?
I have been playing games since the launch of the Sega Genesis and have owned almost all of the major consoles and some minor consoles. It's really the only form of electronic entertainment I continuelly enjoy. Favorite game is a very hard question to answer as so many greats have released.
I am a huge fan of the Bioshock series, Borderlands, Fallout, Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, among many others
3. What/who inspired you to start streaming?
I know I am an entertaining person. Due to my extensive background in the Retail and customer service business. I thought to myself, I know people like who I am... Why not try to impact people on a global scale instead of a local one.
Helping people has always been a passion of mine and it's my main motivator for streaming.
4. When did you start streaming?
Technically since PS4 launch, but seriously about a year ago.
5. How did you find the first few weeks/months of streaming? (any funny stories/mistakes/highlights?)
Streaming is very difficult. You have to learn a lot of new skills to be successful at it, which I would say I'm not successful yet.
However I have taken the challenge and have learned more in the last year about social media use, networking, hardware and software, behaviors and entertaining.
These key factors can really change the flow of a stream and it's community even if you cannot have the newest, fanciest tech and or the best skills in a game.
6. How did you grow your stream? How did you network?
Mainly through social media, and through various teams I joined, even if just to pick ideas off of other streamers.
7. What has been your proudest moment while streaming?
I would say either reaching affiliate, getting hosted by a friend of mine for somewhere in the 70 viewer range, or reaching my first payout from Twitch.
8. How did you find the technical side of streaming? Setting up your stream, etc?
It was a bit of a challenge at first. But patience and research made it easier to adapt too.
9. What do you enjoy most about your streaming career?
The community that I have created and continue to nurture. The people who give their time and money to me just for talking, laughing and/or raging.
10. What don't you enjoy so much about streaming?
There is not much I dont enjoy. I think the biggest challenge is getting people to know about you and your community. However it is fun and educational to learn that skill.
11. What are you short term and long term goals for your stream?
Short term goal would be grow my stream to at least 1000 by the end of the year.
Long term goal to be successful at streaming and be able to provide for my family by making it a full time job. While also being able to impact and develop others no matter their problems or goals
12. What advice would you give anyone looking to start streaming?
Research, Research, Research, network and have fun doing it even if your just talking to yourself to an empty chat. If it is something you want to do full heartedly, never give up.
13. Finally, what other streamers do you enjoy watching?
I have alot of streamers I enjoy watching, most of them are friends and people who support me. However I love finding much smaller streams than mine and try to help them, support them, and nurture them.
A few examples of streamers are: Adimysk, DeruosoDesigns, Ronin_of_gaming, Bird_Man_7, Asylum_Reaper, ManaMocha, Cyberpunkplays
