JoeR247 Interviews... DeadHeadDraven

1. What is the story behind your channel name?

My friend gave me the name years ago when he was setting up my Xbox 360 for me, i went by Draven as its the name of the lead character in my favorite movie The Crow but it was too short to use as a user name so he added the DeadHead part as it seemed to fit me (i can be a little dumb sometimes) I liked it and its been my gaming name ever since

2. What is your video game history/background and all time favourite game?

I got my first computer when i was around 10 i think and it was a commodore 64 - ever since then i have been hooked on gaming as i think its a brilliant way to tell stories and get lost yourself in a another world - My favorite game of all time has to be Final Fantasy VII, until i played this game i had no idea games could be so complex, deep and moving - i first played it at a friends house and i kept going back and playing it so much the friend game me his copy of the game as i had played it more then him but he enjoyed watching me play it to completion

3. What/Who inspired you to start creating content on the internet?

A friend of mine @GeneralKaosLive started streaming and asked me if i would check out his channel and give him my free Prime sub as i have amazon prime! i only ever intended to go on twitch to support him but after hanging out in his channel and seeing how much fun he was having i had to give it ago myself - now i am totally hooked

4. When did you start creating content on the internet?

I have been doing podcasts for around 7 years but i only started streaming on twitch in March this year (2018)

5. How did you find the first few weeks/months of content creation? (any funny stories/mistakes/highlights?)

The thing that got me at first was how quiet my channel was at first but as no one knew me they had no reason to come check me out - after getting friendly with some cools peeps and becoming part of a community the support just rolled in - this was amazing to me and i will never forget the feeling of having 10+ in my channel for the first time

6. How did you grow your channel? How did you network?

MAKE FRIENDS WITH PEOPLE - simply find like minded people and hang out with them - asking for follows/shout outs gets you no where, making real connections with people and groups is the best way

7. What has been your proudest moment so far?

The first time I sold merch - the closest I have ever come to crying on stream 😜

8. How did you find the technical side of content creation? Setting up your channel, etc?

I am in I.T. so it was too bad to set up - there are lots of good youtube channels out there with all the info you need

9. What do you enjoy most about your content creation hobby/career?

The Support - i stream because i am going to be playing games anyway why not stream too, what keeps me doing it and trying to improve my channel is the support that people have shown me - i get a great buzz when ever i get a new follow/raid/sub/bit and it just makes me want earn that support even more

10. What don't you enjoy so much about your content creation hobby/career?

I find myself not playing certain games that i would normally play due to them being "not right for streaming" in my head - but im trying to tell myself SCREW IT play what ever you would normally be playing

11. What are you short term and long term goals for your channel/s?

Just keep going and hope people stick with me - I am so happy with where my channel is right now

12. What advice would you give anyone looking to get into content creation?

Be yourself - Make Friends with people who do the same thing - Dont watch the numbers - focus on quailty not progression

13. Finally, what other content creators do you enjoy watching and recommend people check out?

Too many to name so i will just say my best friend @enrisenarcade
