1. What is the story behind your channel name?
When I was young the song sex on fire was always on the radio but everyone changed the words to MariahsOnFire and it stuck ever since
2. What is your video game history/background and all time favourite game?
My dad is a hardcore gamer so I always grew up playing games with him. When my mom passed away my dad also played lots of games with me to keep me company and happy but my all time favorite game has to be the legend of Zelda twilight princess. Zelda will always be my favorite franchise!
3. What/Who inspired you to start creating content on the internet?
Mainly the idea of building up my own community and making everyone feel welcome and knowing I can make everyone happy and entertained is something I always loved the idea of!
4. When did you start creating content on the internet?
January 18th on my birthday in 2016! But I started streaming consistent as of 2017 when my exams died down
5. What is your content creation setup. Specs and accessories?
I have a really awesome new desk with my two monitors (Acer 22” 144hz) my pc itself is a Ryzen 7 1700x with a GTX 1070 with the rest being Corsair components.
I also have a Corsair void pro headset and then decor wise I have my awesome LED lights around my desk and then little figurines and my logo stitch from stitchyBaker <3 I am hoping to get a new mic soon and new gaming chair!
6. How did you find the first few weeks/months of content creation? (any funny stories/mistakes/highlights?)
Everyone’s experience when they first start streaming is unique. For me it was hard to think of things to commentate and fill in those awkward silences but eventually when people starting talking I started to make conversations more easily and learn how to become more fluent in making chats.
The main issue for me is that I was in school so I found it hard to make time for streaming along side homework and lessons but eventually I found a balance and starting working on my streams more
7. How did you grow your channel? How did you network?
Streaming as often as possible is a big factor as it opens up a lot of time for new people to come and check out your content and you also notice people come back to carry on watching you and you start to build up more relationships from people all over the world.
Networking on social media is also extremely important as people from different platforms can come and find you, not just people on twitch - people also follow other people you can socialise with and it opens up so much room for new relationships and even help and get advice from other streamers. You will also notice people will recommend you to other streamers and help you out on social media and eventually it all builds up.
Improving content is also a great way to engage new people - always making sure you chat to people when they say hello and making people feel comfortable in your streams is also very important
8. What has been your proudest moment so far?
Every time I stream is a proud moment because so many different things happen that makes each stream unique. As long as I make people happy I am proud of myself, but if we are talking about proud milestones I would have to say reaching 50 subs is my proudest moment so far!
It makes me happy knowing people enjoy my personality and content and want to support me
9. How did you find the technical side of content creation? Setting up your channel, etc?
I’ve worked with computers a lot so setting streams up isn’t a massive issue for me but if ever I do get stuck I have a lot of people who I could ask for help!
10. What do you enjoy most about your content creation hobby/career?
Meeting new people has to be my most enjoyable thing I absolutely love getting to know different people and learning about where they are from and what hobbies they have I find it super interesting!
I also love sharing my hobby of gaming with other people and taking people through games and playing with viewers. I also love helping and supporting other streamers and reaching goals and milestones
11. What don't you enjoy so much about your content creation hobby/career?
The fact I am a student and I barely have the time to stream :( when I get home my internet also cuts off a lot meaning my streams never work of an evening and it makes me feel like I am no longer getting to enjoy my hobby as much and speak to people
12. What are you short term and long term goals for your channel/s?
Short terms goals are to reach 100 subs and continue working working on improving my channel and I also want to get some new equipment.
Long term goals are to become partner and travel the world showing my passion for gaming
13. What advice would you give anyone looking to get into content creation?
Be confident in yourself - content creating opens so many amazing opportunities and builds up a lot of confidence. Stream games that you know you will enjoy so nothing feels forced and you don’t get bored, make sure you always engage in chat and make people feel welcome.
Be active on social media and get to know new people each day and make new friends and you will find that they will support you and what you do. Try and be as consistent as possible but make sure you keep time for yourself and homework/ work life. Never give up - sometimes views can be low and it can feel demotivating but you have to remember everyone has a life - just because someone isn’t watching you doesn’t mean they don’t like you people may simply be doing daily life things - so always keep streaming and enjoy the game and meeting people.
Go into other peoples streams and Get to know new people - they may even support you back! Finally look at ways to improve your channel and ask people for possible improvements - it will only ever get better
